Hendrickson introduces Roadmaax Z, its first drive axle suspension with ZMD technology
INDIANAPOLIS—Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems has released Roadmaax Z, its lightest 46,000 lb. capacity rear air suspension. This suspension system provides on- and off-highway performance, ride quality, and cargo protection for demanding applications. It is approved for use with lift axles and up to 25% off-highway operation.

According to the company, Roadmaax Z was designed as a top-mount, trailing arm air suspension to provide a superior ride. Hendrickson integrated zero maintenance damping ride technology, a Hendrickson first in drive axle suspensions. ZMD ride technology eliminates conventional shock absorbers and integrates the damping function into the air springs to help reduce downtime and maintenance costs over the vehicle's life. Unlike shock absorbers, whose damping capacities are finite and typically deteriorate with age, ZMD air springs are designed to provide continuous damping over the life of the air spring. Roadmaax Z offers a full range of suspension scalability with rated capacities of 23,000 lb., 46,000 lb., and 69,000 lb.
Hendrickson’s Roadmaax Z rear air suspension will be displayed at the NTEA tradeshow starting on March 6.
